The Chair introduced the Board and welcomed everyone to the meeting.

3 Declarations of Interest Relating to Items on the Agenda

Raumati South School Room 4 Snow cones
Maddie and Mia, ex-students of Raumati South School, spoke to their grant application and gave a summary on how their snow cone adventure began, how they had handed over the reins to other students and the plans for taking their snow cone enterprise to external Galas and Fairs to increase revenue and give more to the students’ identified charities.

· The Chair’s activities had been emailed to Board Members prior to the meeting for their information.
· Jonny Best would email Board Members his activities.
· Grace Lindsay had attended a Gateway protest to hear the community’s concerns.
Committee Resolution PRCB2021/2 Moved: Mr Guy Burns Seconder: Cr Bernie Randall That the Paraparaumu/Raumati Community Board approves a grant of $500 to the Non Profit Organisation, known as Friendship Force of Kapiti Coast to cover costs of venue hire at Queen Elizabeth Park and kohas to a number of speakers when hosting Friendship Force Clubs around New Zealand during 7-10 February. That the Paraparaumu/Raumati Community Board approves a grant of $500 to Amanda Dixson on behalf of the Kapiti Songsters Choir to help with hall hire costs for their weekly choir sessions at the Kapiti Uniting Church Hall during school terms. That the Paraparaumu/Raumati Community Board approves a grant of $500 plus GST to the students of Room 4 at Raumati South School, to help with costs to purchase a commercial snow cone machine so they can continue their charity work and attend external events i.e. Galas etc. |

7.1 Matters Under Action |
Board Members noted progress to date and comments were made on the following issues.
Town Centres Project and Raumati Village Safety Improvements Members had some concerns on a number of issues, including: · location of bus lanes and pedestrian crossing (visual maps requested) · timing of the projects · consultation with the community · loss of car park spaces at shops on Matatua Road/Alexander Road intersection and requested the Council’s Senior Managers be invited to the next Paraparaumu/Raumati Community Board meeting to further discuss.
Surplus NZTA Land in Raumati South Board Members requested the following information be added to matters under action: "Existing informal walking tracks linking Raumati South with the Leinster Avenue/old State Highway One area be acknowledged and protected in any future development of this land."
Parking around the Te Newhanga Kapiti Community Centre To be removed from matters under action as the Foodbank would be relocating.
